Mary Catalfamo

Rensselaer-Mary F. Motta Catalfamo, age 97 years, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016. She was born in Albany and has lived in Rensselaer for over 60 years. Mary was a homemaker and her family was most important to her. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church in Rensselaer. Daughter of the late Dominick and Carmela Torre Motta; wife of the late Joseph Catalfamo; mother of Dominick (Pat) Catalfamo and Katherine Catalfamo; sister of the late Charles and Peter Motta and Santa Sofia; grandmother of Laura McNamara, Cheryl Grella and Michael Catalfamo; great-grandmother of Joseph McNamara, Joseph, Luke and Juliana Grella and Anthony and Nicholas Catalfamo. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Wednesday morning at 9:00 and 10:00 at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church Herrick Street Rensselaer, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
