With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mark Edward Jubrey, 49, who left us peacefully on November 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness. Mark was born in Albany, NY, on April 24, 1975, to the late Edward Jubrey Sr. and the late Shirley Ann Maher.
Mark was a deeply cherished "Momma’s boy," whose heart was shattered when his beloved mother, Shirley Ann Maher, was called home suddenly in February of this year. Their bond was unbreakable, and now, Mark is finally reunited with her in heaven, where they will be together forever.
A devoted family man, Mark was the proud owner of Jubrey Contracting. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and was always the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Mark had a heart of gold, and his kindness, generosity, and selflessness knew no bounds. He touched everyone who knew him, and to know Mark was to love him.
Mark’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure. He found peace and happiness in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was riding motorcycles or spending quiet hours fishing. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and a spirit that lit up every room he entered.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Colleen Jubrey, and their four children: Samantha, Andrew, Markus, and Harli. He was a proud and devoted Papa to Rylee, Augustino "Tino", Tatum, and Ameliana. He also leaves behind his stepfather, Lenny Maher, and his in-laws, Thomas and Shirley Pariseu.
Mark was predeceased by his parents, Edward Jubrey Sr. and Shirley Ann Maher, as well as his siblings, Kathleen Jubrey and Eddie Jubrey, and his beloved nephew, James “Rocky” Jubrey, who held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his sisters: Krystal Jubrey, Kandie Antonetti, Karen Jubrey, Karla (Marty) Roll, and Kim Sheldon, and his brothers: Michael Sr. (Barbara) Jubrey, Stephen Jubrey, Brian (Anne) Jubrey, and John (Kim) Jubrey. He was also a loving Godfather to Jailah Antonetti and a devoted uncle to Charles (Gina) Jubrey, with whom he shared a deep, brotherly bond. Mark was a best friend to the late Brian Peirce, and is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless friends and family who will forever remember him.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU doctors and nurses at Samaritan Hospital for their compassionate care during Mark’s extended stay. Special thanks go to Mark’s sisters, Kim and Kandie, and his nephew, Charlie, for their unwavering support of Colleen throughout Mark’s time in the hospital. The family is also deeply grateful to Mark’s mentor and role model, Dave Malino, and his wife Stacey, whose love and support have been a true comfort to the family during this difficult time.
Mark’s legacy of kindness, love, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will always live on.
