Loudonville- Margaret M. Abele entered into eternal rest on November 12, 2021 with family by her side. She was born in Albany, grew up in Rensselaer and was a graduate of St. John’s Academy in Rensselaer. Margaret met the love of her life, Harry, on a blind date and was married for 44 years before he passed away. Wife of the late Harry J. Abele, Jr. Mother of Harry J. Abele, III (Sandy), Richard M. Abele (Susan), Kenneth J. Abele (Lori), Peter J. Abele, Mary Jude Maxwell (Brian) and the late Michael P. Abele. Mother-in-law of Mary Kay Maki-Abele. Daughter of the late Monica Dunn and Nicholas Buono. Sister of the late Nicholas and Joseph Buono. Grandmother to the late Jessica Abele. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was known as a loving caregiver for close friends during difficult illnesses. Margaret was very proud of her family and loved spending time gathering them around the Sunday dinner table. Margaret loved traveling and enjoyed playing cards and going to bingo and the casino with her friends. For years she loved going to Saratoga Race track in August to see the horses. Faith was an important part of her life being a member of St. Pius X Church for many years. She was fortunate to find another “family” when she moved to Ashfield Apartments. Funeral mass will be offered from St. Pius X Church 23 Crumitie Rd, Albany on Saturday, November 20 at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church prior to the mass from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush. A special thanks to her wonderful, loving caregivers who became part of the family and kept her comfortable and smiling.
