Rensselaer- Jule "Ann" Brocklebank Hardt age 78 years of Forbes Avenue passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Canandaigua, NY and has lived in Rensselaer since 1960. Ann attended Buffalo State Teachers College and was employed by the Times Union Newspaper and Freihofer's Baking Company. For the past ten years she volunteered as a foster grandparent for Head Start which brought her great joy. Ann loved hosting family and friends at her pool, visits to the ocean and caring for others. Her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren with whom her most cherished memories were made. Daughter of the late Gerald and Marie Curtin Brocklebank; she is survived by four sons and their spouses, Michael (Nancy) Hardt of Rensselaer, Mark (Melissa) Hardt of Townsend, GA, Martin (Tara) Hardt of Speigletown, Matthew (Keri-Lyn) Hardt of Ann Arbor, MI and the late Tracy Hardt; grandmother of Michael, Nicholas, Charlie, Drew, Morgan, Logan, Devin, Skyler and Matthew Hardt; sister of Mary Beth Brocklebank of Newark, DE, Susan (Larry) Guyette of Rochester and Richard Brocklebank of Canandaigua, NY. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Saturday January 23, 2016 at noon. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Saturday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
