Rensselaer – Juanita Theresa Lochner passed away after a long, courageous battle on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Albany and lived her life in the City of Rensselaer.
Juanita was a 1964 graduate of St. John’s Academy in Rensselaer. She dedicated her life to the American Legion Auxiliary and many years as an employee of Huyck Felt. She was a lifetime member of the Gerald O’Neil Post # 1683 in Rensselaer. She chaired many committees and moved up through the ranks as Unit, County, and District President. From 1994 to 1995, Juanita acted as Department President. She also served from 2001 to 2012 as Department Secretary.
Juanita is survived by her siblings, David Fiacco (Janet), Albert Fiacco (Agnes), Francis Fiacco, James Fiacco, Stephanie Hindes (Michael) and Marc Fiacco (Joy). She is also survived by her loving dog Kate Beckett and many nieces and nephews.
Juanita is predeceased by her loving husband Francis Lochner, her parents Albert J. and Florence E. Fiacco, her brothers Joseph Rymski (Debby), Bruce Fiacco (Patricia) and sister Deborah Alcombright.
The family would like to thank Lori McFarland for all of her support during Juanita’s illness.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 4pm–7pm to the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. Funeral will be from the funeral home on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 9am and 10am at the Church of St. Mary’s at Clinton Heights, Columbia Turnpike. Burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery immediately following.
