Joseph Scaglione

May 26, 1966 — March 1, 2025

Cohoes- Joseph S. Scaglione, 58, of Cohoes, passed away at Albany Medical Center on Saturday, March 1, 2025. His brother Jim was with him at the time of his passing. Joe was born on May 26, 1966, in Cambridge, NY. He was the son of the late Frank J. Scaglione and Inez L. Scaglione. Joe graduated from Cambridge Central School in 1984, and attended the University at Albany. He spent his career in the health industry, most recently as a Medical Management Operations Manager with Elevance Health. Joe was a dedicated employee and performed his job very seriously.

Joe loved to travel and his favorite destinations were Las Vegas, Disney World, and NYC to attend Broadway shows. Joe was an avid reader, especially enjoying murder mysteries by Agatha Christie and others. He enjoyed movies and TV, particularly the Marvel and DC films, reality shows, TCM, and features involving time travel and parallel universes. Joe loved Halloween and Christmas. The annual Scaglione holiday gatherings were one of the high points of his year. Joe was fiercely intelligent, and did not suffer fools lightly! He was kind, compassionate, and generous to fault.

In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his sister Carol and her husband Marty Walter. He is survived by his brother Jim and his husband Geoff Morse, several cousins, and numerous caring friends.

Joe was an organ donor.

We would like to thank the doctors and staff at Albany Medical Center for their expert, kind and caring treatment of Joe during the last 2 weeks of his life, especially Dr. Panayiotis Varelas ("Una Faccia, Una Razza") and Joe's nurse in the ICU at the time of his passing. Joe will be missed much more than his brother Jim can express in this tribute.

No contributions or donations are necessary - Joe would just want us all to treat each other with love and respect.

Arrangements are private. There will be a service held in Cambridge in the spring.

One of Joe's favorite quotes from "Dr. Who": "We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"
