Brunswick- Joseph S. Girolami age 69 passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Albany, was raised in the city of Rensselaer and has resided in Brunswick. Joe was the commander of Fort Crailo Post #471 and was the founding President of American Legion Riders #471. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving for 4 years during the Vietnam Era. Joseph retired from Owens Corning after 30 years of service. He was an avid motorcycle and automobile enthusiast. Joe loved to ride his Harley and play golf in his spare time. Son of the late Armand A. and Caroline Valle Girolami. He is predeceased by his wife of 30 years Jean Edwards Girolami. Father of Stephen (Elizabeth) Girolami of Schenectady, Christopher (Melanie) Girolami of Brunswick and Michael (Angelette) Girolami of North Dakota. Stepfather of Brigette Chabert. Brother of Armand D. (Nancy) Girolami and Carol "Honey" (James) DeMarco. Cherished Papa of Olivia, Joseph, Maria, Jeannie, Aleda, Luciana, Michael and Anthony Girolami. Also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his ex-spouse Jodie Chabert. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Friday at 9:30 and 10:30 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Williams Road where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
