John Donnelly

Rensselaer-John R. Donnelly age 61 years, passed away on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after along and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Albany and has been a long time resident of Rensselaer. John was employed at one time as a police officer for the Rensselaer Police Department. He was a Master Plumber and was the owner/operator of JR Donnelly Plumbing, Heating and A/C for many years, before retiring a few years ago. He was a member of the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany. John loved traveling, cooking and dancing. Son of the late John and Catherine Pratt Donnelly; nephew of William T. Pratt, Vincent and Joyce Donnelly, Bob and Kay Donnelly and Jane and Ed Szasfran; cousin of Rosemary Crawford and Edward C. Pratt. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Friday morning April 22, 2016 at 9:00 and 10:00 at the Cathedral of All Saints 62 South Swan Street Albany. Relatives and friends are invited an may call at the funeral home Thursday April 21, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
