John G. Cebula

Rensselaer-John G. Cebula, age 69, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025 after a brief illness. John was born and raised in Amsterdam, NY and was the son of the late John P. Cebula and Sara Jane (Schulz) Cebula. He resided for many years in Averill Park, NY.

John was a graduate of Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam, NY and a graduate of the State University of Albany with a degree in Physics.

He worked for New York State in the Department of Health and the Department of Education. John was an avid nature and animal photographer whose work was featured in several books. John also enjoyed raising and showing Clydesdale horses for many years

John is survived by his companion, Jean McWilliams, Mother, Sara Cebula, Siblings Mark Cebula, Brian Cebula, Lynn Pareene and many nieces and nephews.

Services for John will be private but contributions can be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association.
