Voorheesville- Jean (Reith) Vaughn passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 29 th at the age of 87. Jean was born in Albany, New York on July 24, 1934 to the late John F. Reith and Sarah Ford Reith. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Vaughn, devoted mother of Gail (Brian) Stall, George Vaughn and Colleen (Rafael) Rosa and adoring grandmother of Ethan and Lucas Rosa. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she leaves behind her brother, James Reith and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Francis, and William Reith and sisters, Veronica Devine, Anne Fredericks, Eileen Commerford and Marion Allison and her dear brother-in-law Dallas Vaughn. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and devoted her life to caring for others. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity and for her love of music. She could often be heard singing songs from past decades, spreading happiness and joy to those around her. Her family is deeply appreciative of the love and care provided by the B1 Unit at Van Rensselaer Manor for the last 6 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at the W. J. Lyons Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph's Church, 50 Herrick St., Rensselaer. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.
