Henry Kissinger

April 14, 1944 — October 15, 2024

Cohoes-Henry W. Kissinger (Hank), 80, of Cohoes, New York, passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2024. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 14, 1944, and was the son of the late Henry & Rose Kissinger.

Hank was a retired New York City Police Officer, who worked for many years as the Associate Director of Public Safety at the University Heights Association. Once retired from UHA, Hank continued to work part-time assisting Albany Memorial Hospital with security services for which he had over 25 years of service.

Hank's big personality and good smelling cologne made it difficult for people to not be drawn to him. He was loving, funny, selfless, and the life of the party. Hank was passionate for the fight against cancer after the passing of his loving companion Joyce Zakrzewski.

Hank was a die-hard Mets fan who loved spending time with his loved ones, cruising, bowling, golfing, going to casinos, throwing darts, playing pool, and attending his grandson's games. Most recently, Hank was enjoying the birth of his newest grandchild, Soleí Jianna Banks. She was the light of "Pop Pop's" life.

Hank was predeceased by his sister, Betty Gutzeit. Hank is survived by his daughters Nicole Banks, Darcy Van Denburg, Kim Bikofsky, LuAnn Kissinger-Sabo; his son, Henry Kissinger; his son-in-law, Salih Banks; grandson, Jionni Jerome; and granddaughter, Soleí Banks. He also leaves behind his nephews John Paul & Christopher Gutzeit, and his niece Diane Maresca. Additionally, he is survived by extended family and many close friends including the "Texas Cruising Crew".

Hank will be forever cherished and missed.
