Helen Laura Farrell

Rensselaer- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen L. Farrell, of Rensselaer, peacefully at home, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at age 95, surrounded by her loving family.

A lifelong resident of Rensselaer N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Teresa (Nardacci) Ciprioni.

Helen worked for Sterling Drug in the Shipping and Receiving department for many years. She was a wonderful cook and baker, avid reader, and loved to garden, but mostly spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, George F. Farrell III; her daughter, Laura J. Wands. She is also survived by her cherished grandson Adam J. Wands (Jenn); and her most treasured great-grandson, David J. Wands; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband George F. Farrell Jr., her parents and her sister, Viola Santore; and brothers, Anthony, Mario and Nino Ciprioni.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Community Hospice of Albany for their wonderful care (Beth, Grace and Lori) and her very special caregiver Michelle for her excellent care and kindness.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4-7PM at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, NY 12144. Burial will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
