Harold Ogren

Gallatin, TN. Ogren, Harold W. III, ("Buck"), 62, son of Angelina (Choppy) Ogren and the late Harold Ogren, Jr., passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2016. Born in Albany, NY, Harry attended PS 10, Vincentian Institute and graduated from Albany High School. He served four years in the United States Marine Corp stationed in Twenty Nine Palms, CA and at Marine Barracks NAS Alameda, CA. He received several accommodations, including "Marine of the Month" twice during his time served and a Certificate of Appreciation for assisting in the standoff capture of an armed robber. Upon his discharge, Mr. Ogren resided in Rensselaer for 37 years before relocating to Gallatin, TN. In his free time, he mastered the art of gardening and woodworking. His gardening earned him two awards. Most importantly, his life in later years revolved around his grandchildren, whether looking after them, sharing his interest in cars or taking them to "Pa's River" to skip stones, he made it a point to leave an indelible mark on them. Mr. Ogren is survived by his six children, Stacey Sabiani, Kristofor Ogren, Matthew (Desaree) Ogren, Amber (Tony) Gibson, Tessa Sedlar, and Schuyler Ogren, and his wife Marianne (Camponeschi) Ogren. He was "Pa" to his grandchildren Gavin and Milania Ogren, Killian and Vada Gibson and was looking forward to the birth of his third grandson in February. Harry is also survived by his four sisters, Diane Ogren, Kelly LaBelle, Donna (Paul) Rickard, Victoria (Dave) Rickard, and was predeceased by his brother John Ogren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts, one uncle and several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 5 -7 p.m. at W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home located at 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer NY 12144. Private funeral services will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Food Allergy Research and Education, 515 Madison Avenue, #1912, New York, NY 10022 in honor of his grandson, Killian.
