Frederick Meisner

October 18, 1928 — September 9, 2018

East Greenbush - Frederick J. Meisner, Jr., 89, died Sunday, September 9, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Rensselaer, he was the son of the late Frederick J. and Amelia Tryon Meisner, Sr.; devoted husband of the late Marie J. (Hotaling) Meisner and loving brother to the late Beatrice Barton and Ruth Venduro. Frederick was a proud US Army veteran of the Korean War. In 1976 he opened and operated with his family the Off Shore Pier in East Greenbush, which has been part of the community for over 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, tinkering in his garage on old cars and around his home, but above all he loved his family. Frederick is survived by his children, David (Marjorie) Meisner, Nancy (Mark) Taft and Frederick Meisner III, his Sister's Evelyn Welfinger and Katherine Giordiano, his grandchildren, Mark (Jared) Taft, David (Randi) Taft, Chris (Patsy) Taft and Rachel (Harold) Meisner. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Cameron, Connor and Carter Taft, several nieces and nephews and dear friend Dee Roberts. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at noon in the W. J. Lyons, Jr., Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the services beginning at 9am. Interment will follow in New Rural Cemetery, East Greenbush.
