Eileen Herbert

Defreestville- Eileen M. "Ollie" Herbert, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Ollie was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late James F. Herbert, Sr., and Preget (Funaro) Herbert.

She attended and graduated from St. John's Academy in Rensselaer and received her Nursing degree from St. Peter's Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at St. Peter's Hospital for over 45 dedicated years. She was a communicant of All Saints Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister.

Eileen is survived by her beloved brother, Jim (Anna) Herbert, Jr., and sister Judy (Jerry) Wainman; aunt of Jessica (Jeremy) Herbert, Kevin (Robyn) Herbert, Brian (Jennifer) Herbert, Melissa (Brad) Weichold, Kristy (Bryon) Poindexter, Erin (Mike) Buckley, Jamie Stavrou, Josh (Jennifer) Wainman; great aunt of Ashton, Logan, Peyton, Addison, Judson, Jolie, Lauren, Noah, Olivia, Colman, and Hayes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church, 53 Herrick Street, Rensselaer. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with the family at the church prior to the mass from 10-11 am. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Eileen's memory to Saint Peter's Hospital.
