Imperial Beach, CA- Edward "Eddy" Furlani age 35 of Imperial Beach, CA passed away on Wednesday July 19. 2017. He was born in Albany on February 24, 1982 and resided in Albany, Gilbertsville, PA and Imperial Beach. He graduated from Boyertown, PA High School class of 2000. He is a member of the US Navy and was a Navy Seal for 12 years. He also worked for Thales. Eddy was a member of the Boy Scots and earned the "Arrow of Light Award", played football for the Boyertown High School football team and taught ROTC classes. Eddy received multiple service commendations including Jr. Sailor of the Quarter several times. He was a protector, always there when anyone needed him and was highly regarded by his teammates. He was a caring husband, loving father and a true friend. He survived several injuries. He is at peace now. Caring husband of Andrea Vlahos Furlani whom he married on August 15, 2013 in San Diego, CA. Loving father of Dexter, Zelma and Loki. Son of Peter and Hope Leffler Furlani. Brother of Peter and Gregory. Son-in-law of James and Bonnie Vlahos. Services were held in Imperial Beach, CA on August 4, 2017. Services will be held here on Saturday August 12, 2017 at St. Henry's Church Averill Park at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow at the church at 12:00 PM. All are welcome to attend. A private family burial will take place at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Contributions in Eddy's memory may be made to a trust fund for the children's college education,The Edward P. Furlani Memorial Fund, 1350 Rupert Road, Pottstown, PA 19464.
