Dorothy M. Ruff

WYNANTSKILL. Dorothy M. Ruff, 88, of Wynantskill, NY passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, after a brief illness. Having grown up in Middle Granville, she was the daughter of Walter and Josephine Kelly Keefe. She was a graduate of Granville High School. On April 7, 1956, Dorothy was united in marriage to John J. Ruff, a blessed union of 61 years until his death on October 7, 2010. Dorothy was employed for 15 years at Graves and Rogers Distributors before 'retiring' to care for her family.

Dorothy was a caring, supporting and selfless mother, Nan, and great-Yaya who cherished her family. Distinguished as the family matriarch she treasured time with her daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephew and grand-dogs. She enjoyed trips to the ocean with a particular fondness for York Beach, ME.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Jo Anne Mitchum and husband, Ned; grandson Shane Mitchum and wife, Alyssa; and three grandchildren, Jack, Baker, and Eloise Mitchum; beloved family members and friends.

A graveside service will take place Monday, November 18th at 10:30 a.m. at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
