David Haggerty

East Greenbush-David T. Haggerty, age 62 years, passed away suddenly at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany on Monday, May 2, 2016. He was born in Albany, son of the late John and Kathlyn Gilbert Haggerty. Dave grew up in Rensselaer and was a graduate of St. John's Academy; a graduate of Siena College and received his Masters Degree in accounting from the College of St. Rose. He was a CPA and the owner of Haggerty and McGarvey CPA's. Dave was a member of Rensselaer Council 276 Knights of Columbus where he was a past Grand Knight and a member of the James Hill Hook & Ladder Fire Co. both in Rensselaer. He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church in North Greenbush and was the Chairman of the finance committee for the church. Dave was the treasurer for the Board of Directors of Community Maternity Services in Albany. He was an avid NY Yankees and Miami Dolphins fan. Most of all Dave loved the time he spent with his son, especially fishing with him and vacationing in Cape Cod with his family. Husband of Kathleen M. Smith Haggerty of East Greenbush; father of Andrew David Haggerty; brother of John (Helen), Brian, Thomas (Linda), Kevin (Joyce) and Pat (Leslie) Haggerty; son-in-law of Jane Smith; brother-in-law of James (Maryann) Smith. He was cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins and his faithful canine companion Marbles. Funeral will be from St. Michael the Archangel Church 175 Williams Road (North Greenbush) Troy, NY Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church Friday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
