Constance Gunderman

Averill Park- Connie passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania on May 29, 1932 to the late Maximillan and Hildagarde Schoenberger and beloved predeceased sister Gloria. She grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs (Main Line.) In 1950 Connie moved to New York and attended Albany Business College. Upon graduation, she proceeded into the work force for the NYS Department of Transportation where she met her future husband, a civil engineer, Vincent Gunderman. They were married in 1956 and resided in Averill Park, NY where Connie became a full-time homemaker. In 1985 Connie retuned to the workforce as a secretary at Rifenburg Construction. She took great pride in her job and at the age of 82 she retired. Survivors include two sons, Richard V. Gunderman (Terry) of Clifton Park, NY, Kenneth C. Gunderman (Cathy and family) of West Sand Lake, NY, daughter Linda Gunderman of Greeley, CO, beloved step daughters Elaine (George and family) Rifenburg and the late Jean Blatt (and family). Special nephews William and Michael Koehler. Grandsons Matthew, Michael and Sean Gunderman. Viewing on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 from 4-7 Pm with a service to follow at W.J Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
