Charles J. Rebhun

Rensselaer - Charles "Chuck" Rebhun passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Born to the late John and Marion Rebhun, Chuck attended Troy High School and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. After his military service, he began his career as a milk deliveryman before dedicating 33 years to Behr Manning/Saint-Gobain.

Chuck found joy in life's simple pleasures-playing golf, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and spending cherished vacations in Maine. He and his beloved wife Ruth enjoyed 20 memorable winters together as "snowbirds" in Tucson, Arizona. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Chuck brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 66 years, Ruth, and their children: Richard Rebhun, Sharon (Charles Dennis) Rebhun, Nancy (Christopher) Sciotti, Charles (Jean) Rebhun, and Leonard Rebhun. He was a treasured brother to Carol (Charles) Caccia, Joan (William) Smith, Sue (Wendell) Collins, and James (Donna) Rebhun, and a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Chuck is predeceased by his siblings John Rebhun Jr., Patricia (survives Charles) Homeyer, and his daughter Suzanne (survives Vern) Pohlman.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Rensselaer Community Hospice for their compassionate care and support shown to Chuck and his family.

Family and friends are invited to the Celebration of Chuck's Life which will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. Interment will be held at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 15th at 10am. In honor of Chuck's memory, contributions may be made to Rensselaer Fire Station, 2 St. Francis Place, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
