Carolina Tobia

Rensselaer- Carolina DeThomasis Tobia of Columbia Turnpike passed away on Wednesday May 18, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Carolina was born on April 15, 1936 in Abbateggio, Italy (Pescara). She was schooled in Italy. She was wife of the late Galileo Tobia whom she married on January 23, 1960, Daughter of the late Francesco and Loreta DeThomasis, Mother of Gino Tobia and her step-children, sister of Giuseppe DeThomasis, Agostino DeThomasis, Maria Petrosino, Pasquale DeThomasis, Antonietta Deyoe and the late Rosina DiPierdomenico. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer, all are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
