Brian Mcelroy

Brian William McElroy, Sr. age 58 of Third Street Rensselaer passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at home from Anaplastic Lymphoma surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albany on September 10, 1957 and was a High School graduate. Brian was employed by Friendly Home Partners as a Warehouse worker/Supervisor. He was a member of the G. S. Mink and T. Claxton Hose Fire Company in Rensselaer, Rensselaer Volunteer Ambulance and the City of Rensselaer Auxiliary Police. Brian loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed all his volunteer work for the Rensselaer Volunteer Fire Department and the Rensselaer Volunteer Ambulance. Husband of Catherine R. Kilcher McElroy whom he married in the city of Albany on November 6, 1976. Father of Tracey (Christopher) Kilhullen, Brian W. McElroy, Jr., Jennifer (Matthew) Byron, Jessica (Ryan) Allstun and Keriann (Eric) Burke. Son of Francis T. McElroy and Annetta M. Minkler McElroy. Brother of Michael (Peggy), Kate (Lou), Mary (Harry) Sharon, Karen, Edward (Karen), Eva (Tom), Anita (LeRoy), Terry (Jack), Donna (Danny), and David and the late Thomas, Emeline and Marilyn. Grandfather of Keith, Brittany, Devon, Topanga, Kymber, Gage, Katie, Jordan, Trinity, Kody, Julianna, Carter, Matthew Jr., Danika, Erica, Olivia and Ryleigh. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 1-4 PM.
