Betty Archambault

RENSSELAER - Betty J. Archambault, 74 of Rensselaer, passed away suddenly January 2, 2019. Betty was born May 24, 1944 to the late Emma and Rendel Davey. Betty was raised in Rensselaer and continued to live there after graduating Rensselaer High School. Betty met her husband to be Arthur Archambault when his family moved into the house next door in 1953. The two quickly became best friends and spent their childhood together. In 1963 Betty and Arthur married and later bought their home in 1970 just down the street from their childhood residences. Betty continued to live here until her passing. Betty worked for Friendly Home and Parties for 47 years then worked for Hawthorne Ridge for 11 years until retiring in December 2018. Betty was compassionate and loving. She enjoyed her camp, doing crafts, and sewing. She loved visiting friends and playing with her dog Maggie. Above all, Betty loved to spend time with her husband Arthur, her children Tina and Lynda, her seven grandchildren and great granddaughter. Betty was always one to be there for others, always sharing her love and wisdom and giving unconditional support to all her loved ones. She spent her days helping her residents and coworkers at Hawthorne and at home she was the matriarch always loving and supporting her family. Betty is predeceased by her parents Emma and Rendel Davey, her sister Judy Mitchell and her mother and father in law William and Mildred Archambault. Betty is survived by her loving husband Arthur Archambault, her daughters Tina DuMond (John) and Lynda Schmick, her seven grandchildren Matthew Schmick, Katherine DuMond, Jennifer DuMond, Shawn Schmick, Jordan Schmick, Hannah Schmick, and Nathan Schmick, and her great granddaughter Gabriella DuMond. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12210. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10am in the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, from 3 to 6pm. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
