Rensselaer – Bertha E. Bove “Thea” passed away, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany on November 4, 1972, Thea was the daughter of Nicholas John Wendeborn Sr. and the late Bertha E. Wendeborn. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.

Thea was incredibly talented and created beautiful crafts for her loved ones. She was passionate about butterflies with her belief they are loved ones from heaven. Thea loved creating memories with family and friends vacationing at the beach. She was always planning the next adventure. Family was the most important to Thea, she proudly displayed a gallery of photos throughout her home.

Thea leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 35 years Joseph P. Bove, Sr. He never left her side throughout her illness. She is also survived by her children Myranda B. Stevens (Keyth), Joseph P. Bove Jr., Nickoli W. Chowenhill (Dakota), and Steven D. Bove (Katarina), brother Nicholas J. Wendeborn Jr. (Marie), sister Wendy A. Giangrande (Peter), grandchildren Izabella, Joseph, Carmella, Lucyana, Nicholas, Charlotte, and Allison. She was predeceased by her brother Steven D. Wendeborn.

The family would like to recognize and thank everyone who prayed, donated and comforted Thea throughout her illness.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the W.J. Lyons Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 4-6pm. Words of remembrance will immediately follow at 6pm.
