Audrey E. Higgins

Rensselaer - Audrey E. Higgins, 96, formerly of Washington Avenue, died August 9, 2024 at the St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany. She was the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Emily Hart Higgins, and was predeceased by her brother Lt. Alan Kent Higgins. She is survived by some cousins and friends.

Born in Rensselaer, Audrey was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Van Rensselaer High School in 1946. Miss Higgins worked as an Accounting Clerk for the New York Telephone Company, retiring in 1981 with 35 years of service. She was a member of the New York Telephone Pioneers, AARP and Senior Citizens.

At her request, viewing hours and burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie will be private.

Also, Miss Higgins requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Church of the Redeemer, 1249 Third Street, Rensselaer, NY 12144 or to a charity of one's choice.
