Delmar-Anthony J. Fernandez, 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Albany Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on March 1, 1954, he was the son of the late Anthony Fernandez and Alice Fuentes. Throughout his life, he lived in several places, including Laurelton, East Nassau, Delmar, and East Chatham. Anthony attended Hofstra University and dedicated much of his life to his work as an electronic repair technician and installer. He worked side by side with his father at their family business Tuners Inc. and also worked as a manager at Chem Cleaners and the Riverview Office Building.
A passionate history enthusiast, Anthony was especially fond of World War II. He had a deep love for music, particularly the flute, and enjoyed practicing karate in his free time. A lifelong reader, Anthony had a knack for fixing anything that came his way, and he adored cats. He will be remembered as a caring, kind, and creative individual who always gave of himself to others. His helpful nature and generous spirit touched many lives.
Anthony is survived by his beloved mother, Alice; his sister, Laura Laz; and his nephews, Gary M. Webb and David Singh. He also leaves behind his dear friend, Meg, and his best pal, John.
