North Greenbush-Anthony N. Aurelia went peacefully home to our Lord on February 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Tony was the eldest son of Nicholas and Assunta Aurelia. Tony was a graduate of the class of 1955 from The Cathedral Academy. He served actively in the U. S. Navy from 1958 to 1959 followed by Six years in the Navy Reserve. Tony retired after 34 years of dedicated service from Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. Tony loved to travel and his most memorable trip was to his native land Italy. Tony and his wife shared many wonderful vacations together. Tony exemplified the spirit of volunteerism. He enjoyed his service work as a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. for 30 years. He participated for 20 years as coordinator in preparing the thousands of take-out dinners for Equinox's Thanksgiving Day Dinner. Closed to his heart for the next 20 years was his dedicated service to The Roarke Center in South Troy where he made many friends and helped so many. He was also an active member of the St. Michael's Men's Club always in the kitchen cooking for one event or another and planning football trips to West Point and Syracuse. . He will be greatly missed by his parish family especially "The Boss" and his Community. Tony accomplished many kinds of volunteerism to many to mention all. Tony is survived by his loving wife Jeanne and his brothers Ernest Aurelia and very special friend Cynthia Henninger and James (Barbara) Aurelia. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Rita and brother-in-law Brain Goff. His brother-in-law Michael and sister-in-law DeeDee Craft also his brother-in-law John Craft and Heather. He is survived by his sons Nicholas Aurelia and Mark (Allie) Aurelia; step-daughters Kellie Bowen and Tanya Cresser. He is survived by his grandchildren, Nicole, David, Michael, Matthew, Anthony, Cassidy, Elizabeth and Ashlyn. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews, nieces and great nephews, nieces. We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Garbo and Dr. Doyle and all of the nurses at NYS Oncology for the loving care given to Tony. Special thanks too to all of the staff at St. Peter's Hospital and at the Inn of St. Peter's Hospice who lovely assisted Tony in his final days and hours. Calling hours will be held on Thursday February 11, 2016 at St. Michael the Archangel Church from 4 to 7 pm. A celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 12, 2106 at 10 am. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made in memory of Tony to the Roarke Center, 107- 4th ST., Troy, NY 12180
