Angelina Rose Kenealy

September 4, 1931 — January 30, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our Mother Angie Kenealy entered into eternal life on January 30, 2025, passing peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Lexington, Ma., Angie was one of eight children of the late Paul and Lena (Mercadente) Marashio.

Angie was predeceased by the love of her life, James P. Kenealy, and her beloved son-in-law Bernie Mulligan. Angie was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who would, and often did do anything for her friends and family.

Angie cherished her large and loving Italian family, which started in an almost mythical place we call The Farm. If you are lucky, you know what saying "The Farm" means. If The Farm is new to you, just know that it means lots of family, including Uncles and Aunts, cousins and Grandparents, weddings, and Sunday Dinner with a capital D. Mostly, it means being surrounded by love.

Angie spent most of her adult life in the home she built with her husband Jim in East Greenbush. In her later years, she retired to live near her daughter in Castleton, New York, where she remained surrounded by family and friends. A woman of many talents, Angie loved going to the casino, buying and returning things from Boscov's and calling her many friends and family members to keep up to date on everyone. Angie was an extraordinary cook. Her spaghetti sauce is legendary, her meatballs unforgettable, and her eggplant parm was nothing short of perfection. Even at the age of 93, Angie continued to delight her family with her culinary masterpieces, including her famous apple pie.

Everyone that met Angie found her Boston accent charming and her sense of humor infectious. Angie could make herself laugh telling a story and make everyone else laugh without knowing what story she was telling. Angie had a unique way of making everyone in her life feel special. She was feisty, outspoken, and overly generous.

Angie is survived by her son Michael Kenealy and his wife Kim of Glenville, her daughter Nancy Mulligan of Castleton, her son Deane Kenealy, and his wife Hildy of Guilderland. She was the proud grandmother of Erica Mulligan, Tracy Davidson and her husband Sean, Justin Kenealy and his wife Shaunna, Sean Kenealy and his wife Leah, Michael Mulligan and his wife Hannah, Ryan Kenealy and his wife, Meg, Mary Sharp and her husband Jeff and Anthony Mulligan and his wife Jen. Angie was blessed with great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life: James, Sam, William, and Jack Davidson, Avery and Kellan Kenealy, Abigail and J.P. Mulligan, Ellis and Winona Kenealy, Elle (Eleanor) Kenealy, Taylor and Maryssa Sharp and Samantha and Matthew Mulligan.

Angie was the sister of the late Paul "Sonny" Marashio, the late Betty Napolitano, MaryAnn Gelormini, and Pauline Anderson. She is survived by sisters Jean Tracey, Nancy Anderson, and Linda Marashio. Angie was predeceased by loving Aunts and Uncles including Mary, Madeline, Josephine (JoJo), Stella, Anna, Tony, and Angelo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Angie also dearly loved her extended family, including Louie Mulligan, Randy Shapiro, Tracy and Rick Shaver, Jackie and Frank Addario and many more.

Angie was loved and will be missed by many. Though she is no longer with us, we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones in heaven. As she looks down upon the family she created, we can be certain that she is proud of the legacy of love and unity she leaves behind.

A memorial service will be held at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave, Rensselaer, Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 2pm. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home beginning at 11am.
