Rensselaer- Adam C. Otten, 46, of Rensselaer passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at his family home. Adam was born on March 7, 1976, in Albany and was the son of Charles Otten and Diana Snyder Carlos. Shortly after graduating from high school, Adam began working on the railroad. He was employed by CSX and most recently by Amtrak as an engineer. He was a member of the BLET, Brotherhood Locomotive Engineer Teamster and was proud of his 24-year career that was cut too short.
Adam was a diehard Yankee fan and Chicago Bears fan and cherished time spent at baseball games with his children. He loved participation in his fantasy football league. Adam was a kind, gentle and hardworking man. He was a loving father and loved spending time with his family.
Son of Charles (Anna Maria) Otten and Diana (John) Carlos. Father of Ryan Otten and Kyle Otten. Brother of Georgina (Stanley) Mellas, Charles (Michelle) Otten, Lindsay (Lee) Knickerbocker and Kayla (Sean) Otten. Adam is also survived by his girlfriend; Mandie Stafford and her children, Penelope, and Phoebe, grandmother; Marion Kudlack, nieces; Mackenzie and Kinslee, nephews; Anthony, Michael and Keehan and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Thursday, Dec. 15th at 6:30 PM. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited prior to the service from 4-6:30. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
